Your dreams are young,
Though your body old;
Your eyes they burn
Like molten gold.
I reach out and touch your weathered face
Soft lines that tell of life’s embrace;
You brush my hand so cold, yet warm
And give me hope for the coming dawn.
Now the flowers they blow gently in the soft breeze
As they mourn for you, my lord, my liege.
