As her lips smile in anticipation

Accept the mediocre

She moves in
Hands get tangled in hair
Breath's mingle
Mouth's devour
Sweat rolls of burning skin
Breathing in the perfume of loving
Ecstasy expressed in guttural sighs
And then it's over
Reality intrudes again
Memories return with a vengeance
The heart that bleeds is now silent
There is nothing more to say
Now only silence reigns
